Sunrise over the Matterhorn

Hi! I'm a master's student in the BS-MS program at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. I work with Dr Ashesh Dhawale and Dr Tosif Ahamed to understand how the brain learns in continuous action spaces. I use a combination of classical RL models, RNNs, and behavioural analysis to discover learning algorithms.

Previously, for my bachelor's thesis, I worked with Dr Pascal Malkemper at the Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology of Behaviour in Bonn, Germany, where I characterised place cells and theta oscillations in the mole-rat hippocampus. Before that, I worked on the phylogenetics of Western Ghats endemic tarantulas and on bird community composition across elevations in the Himalayas.

In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, on a hike, looking for birds, or travelling with my camera. When indoors, I spend my time reading science fiction and ગુજરાતીGujarati is my mother tongue novels, watching spy thrillers, and brewing fresh coffee.
